Of course not. And there is no shortage of evidence to prove it. However, this accomplished evolutionary psychologist seems to think otherwise.
From the looks of his articles, it appears that this is just one synaptic misfire in a series of on-going and equally preposterous theories. His previous assertion was that men are smarter than women. Of course, when that claim couldn’t be upheld, he decided to renounce it (probably due to the incredible amounts of hate mail he likely received) and reconstructed his theory that taller people are smarter than shorter people. He backpeddled his original theory of men being smarter than women by saying “men on average are slightly but significantly more intelligent than women, not because they are men, but because they are taller.”
It would appear that heightism is alive and well in the scientific community just as well as it is just about everywhere else.
But I’m not angry about this blatant disregard for the scientific method (he never poses any kind of actual evidence to back his claims nor does it look like he intends to) because it’s not worth getting angry over.
And you shouldn’t be angry either. This blog is all about growing taller, to be sure. But it’s also all about making yourself the person that you want to be. There should be no shame in wanting to change your physical appearance to grow taller just like there is no shame in someone that wants to lose weight or someone that wants six pack abs. You want to do it for you, and that’s all that matters.
But it’s probably best to ignore these so-called “experts” when they try to push their heightism-laced agenda. Perhaps I’ll follow my own advice and try to ignore it as well in the future.

That guy’s words are absolute nonsense. Thanks for being the one level-headed, honest guy in the entire height science field, Hayden!
Thanks, Rodney!
