A little while ago, I posted about a few grow taller scams that cloud the waters of true height science and make the entire field of legitimate height science appear to be filled with nonsense and scams.
The companies and individuals that perpetuate these grow taller scams prey on the emotions of people until they pull out their credit cards to fork over their hard-earned money for so-called “height-increasing treatments” that end up doing nothing at all.
There are so many of these scams that I had to go back and bring to light a few more to warn Grow Taller Blog readers about so you don’t get mislead by the half-truths, hype, and outright lies of their slick marketing schemes.
Unfortunately, this will likely not be the last time that I have to visit this subject, as it seems that scammers are always finding new and bolder methods to bilk money out of innocent consumers.
Human Growth Hormone (HGH) Supplements for Height Increase
This is probably the murkiest grow taller scam that it is because it uses scientifically-proven facts to peddle junk science.
It is absolutely true that human growth hormone (HGH) is responsible for height growth during adolescence (puberty) and it is also absolutely true that hormone injections that are administered by qualified medical doctors to adolescents can help increase the height that they will grow up to during their natural growth spurt. Furthermore, it is true that proper use of human growth hormone supplementation even after puberty can help increase vitality, strength, and stamina for adults.
However, once your growth plates have fused, there is absolutely nothing that you or anyone else can take in the form of supplements that will reverse the process that stopped your natural bone growth. It’s a done deal and until there is a major scientific breakthrough that changes that (don’t hold your breath for it), any company or individual that is selling human growth hormone supplements to increase height for adults are trying to scam you.
Best case scenario: You’re paying a premium for ordinary vitamins.
Worst case scenario: You’re taking an unknown substance that was mixed together in a facility with questionable – possibly dangerous – lack of quality standards.
Shin/Knee/Ankle Stretching using Weights
The rumor mills are all abuzz about these techniques and have been for years and years. These techniques tend to be more popular with teenage boys that are willing to put themselves through the pain of actually attempting to create so-called “microscopic tears†in their shinbones just before they go to bed with the hopes of those tears filling in with fresh bone and/or cartilage between the bones while they sleep at night.
Like HGH supplementation, the root of this scam lies in real science and that’s what makes the actual scam so persistent. It is true that the human body is an amazingly adept biological machine that is able to repair itself over time to accommodate outside stimuli. This is the very reason that legitimate height increase such as what is taught in the Grow Taller Book works. On the more painful side, it is the reason that leg lengthening surgery works as well; however, that comes at a price of hundreds of thousands of dollars and several months of excruciating pain and suffering, if not permanent disfigurement.
But the premise is not evergreen – meaning that it you can’t simply place repeated stress and/or create microscopic fractures anywhere on your body and expect to grow taller as a result. By repeatedly subjecting the relatively fragile inner workings of your knees to the trauma of suspending very heavy weights and crude pulley systems from your body will do nothing at all if you’re lucky and cause severe injury and joint pain for the rest of your life if you’re not.
Best case scenario: Nothing happens
Worst case scenario: you sustain acute joint injury and associated pain for the rest of your life from the acute, repeated trauma to your legs, ankles, knees, and shins..
Acupuncture
Once more, the most pervasive grow taller scams refuse to die out because there is just a hint of science surrounded by cloudy, murky junk science and scammy misinterpretation. Scam artists that perpetuate these lies are depending on the average consumers’ extremely limited knowledge about a subject such as acupuncture and then feed on the legitimate facts that the victim may have heard at one time in order to push their scams.
Acupuncture does have its place within the realm of relaxation and pain relief. There is a ton of evidence that acupuncture has localized stimulation and/or therapeutic properties when performed correctly. There are tons of claims that acupuncture can help relieve symptoms associated with muscle pain, joint pain, and even aid in relaxation. However, there is no scientific evidence that has ever suggested that acupuncture can help increase height. And there won’t be. Because the facts just don’t add up.
Best case scenario: Nothing happens.
Worst case scenario: You’re out several hundred dollars for the pleasure of someone sticking hundreds of needles into your body. And nothing happens.
Conclusion: Once you have completed your natural growth cycle – the one that ends after puberty once you become an adult – there is absolutely no way that this growth process can be restarted. It simply is not possible.
The only way to grow taller after this point is to take advantage of the flexible and resilient nature of your body to optimize your height through a series of concise, scientifically-proven exercise and nutritional regimens that will allow you to stand up to four inches taller.
And the only source available to the public that delivers these specific regimens is the Grow Taller Book.
