Why Do You Want to Grow Taller?

by Hayden Carter

Why Do You Want to Grow Taller? It may seem like a silly question, but it isn’t. I talk to many people every single week that want to grow taller and I generally ask this question of all of them. It’s certainly not because I’m trying to talk them out of growing taller. It’s because I want to make sure that they want to learn how to grow taller for healthy reasons, and not for reasons that may not be so healthy.

Learning how to get taller for most people is a choice that they make because they want to make what they believe is a positive change in their body, the same way a person that is unhappy with his or her weight may decide to get in better shape or the same way that a guy that wants to be more muscular may hit the gym.

This is a totally healthy way of looking at getting taller – especially if you are approaching the whole process by learning how to grow taller naturally. And this isn’t just my opinion or something I made up – any qualified psychologist will make the same assertion.

This is why I sometimes dig a little deeper when people answer my “Why do you want to grow taller?” question with an answer such as “Because my girlfriend is taller than me” or “So I can be more confident in myself.”

I want to set the record straight right now. Learning how to get taller is something that you do for yourself and should be a personal decision. If you’re not 100% devoted to the process, the odds are good that you won’t even get 100% out of it. The Grow Taller Book will give you 200% of what you put into it if you go at it wholeheartedly, that’s not the concern. The concern is if/when the decision to increase your height isn’t yours alone and is someone else’s. Gain the extra height for you, not for anyone else.

Secondly, I wouldn’t feel right if I didn’t address the issue of height and confidence. While it is true that additional height can bring about additional confidence, I strongly recommend that you like yourself no matter how tall you are (or aren’t). You only get one life and so you may as well like yourself – no, LOVE yourself – no matter what your physical attributes are. Sure, getting in better shape, building lean muscle, losing fat and – of course – getting taller will certainly help boost your confidence, but it’s certainly good if you do a thorough “gut check” before you even start to remind yourself that you’re doing this because you like yourself – not as a way to make you like yourself.

I’m not trying to sound “preachy” and far be it from me to tell anyone how to feel or how to look at themselves in the mirror. However, I’ve dealt with – literally – several thousand people that have enjoyed gaining between 2 and 4 inches of height faster than they ever thought possible with the Grow Taller Book and for some it was nothing less than a total life-changing experience. I just think that everyone should be ready before they even begin.

Excellent points as always, Hayden. And that’s why I keep coming back to read the grow taller blog even over a year after I first started using the grow taller book: because you keep everything in perspective. Truly the one honest voice in the entire “grow taller” field. Thanks for keeping it real, bud!
